About Me
Choosing a therapist is a very personal choice.
My background, experience, training and qualifications may help you decide if you think we would work well together.
2.
My Approach
Counselling and Psychotherapy can come in many different forms. Finding an approach that's right for you can make all the difference.
3.
Individual Psychotherapy
I work 1 on 1 either by the phone or by video-call. I offer a free introductory session to give clients a chance to ask questions and see if my type of work is what they are looking for.
4.
Group Work
Although I don't offer Group Therapy, I am an experienced workshop facilitator. I am available to lead groups of various sizes.
Getting Help
Here are some things I would encourage a client to consider when meeting with a new therapist. These points can help to establish whether you and your therapist are compatible. Finding a therapist is a deeply personal thing and like most personal things can sometimes take a bit of trial and error. After meeting for an initial session clients are under no pressure to book further sessions and I encourage all my clients to focus on finding what's right for them.

Crisis Support
I am not a crisis counsellor and due to client work I am not always available to answer my phone or emails immediately.

If you find yourself in crisis, I would encourage to reach out for support at any of the following numbers:

Call 116 123 to talk to Samaritans, or email: jo@samaritans.org for a reply within 24 hours
Text "SHOUT" to 85258 to contact the Shout Crisis Text Line, or text "YM" if you're under 19
If you're under 19, you can also call 0800 1111 to talk to Childline. The number will not appear on your phone bill.
These services will only share your information if they are very worried about you or think you are in immediate danger.
